Regent Engineering Joins ConeX Portal to Strengthen UK Manufacturing Collaboration

Regent Engineering Co (Walsall) Ltd has joined ConeX Portal, the fast-growing UK manufacturing community dedicated to connecting manufacturers, engineers, product developers and supply chain partners across the country.

The move forms part of Regent Engineering’s wider strategy to strengthen industry relationships, increase collaboration opportunities and support the development of resilient UK supply chains serving aerospace, defence, transport and infrastructure markets.

Founded in 1941, Regent Engineering has built a reputation as one of the Midlands’ most established manufacturing businesses, specialising in metal pressings, welded assemblies, fabricated structures and bespoke engineered solutions. The company recently announced its membership of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and sees ConeX Portal as a complementary platform for engaging with manufacturers and innovators throughout the UK.

Unlike traditional networking organisations, ConeX Portal focuses on practical collaboration, knowledge sharing and project opportunities, creating a trusted environment where manufacturers can work together to solve challenges and develop new business opportunities.

Stuart Whitehouse, Managing Director of Regent Engineering, believes the collaborative approach aligns closely with the company’s own values.

“Manufacturing has always been built on relationships, trust and collaboration,” said Whitehouse.

“ConeX Portal is bringing together exactly the kind of businesses that make UK manufacturing successful—companies that are willing to share knowledge, support one another and work together to create opportunities. That’s something we are very keen to be part of.”

Whitehouse believes the platform will help Regent Engineering showcase its capabilities while contributing to a stronger domestic manufacturing ecosystem.

“Whether it’s aerospace, defence, infrastructure or industrial manufacturing, supply chains are becoming increasingly important. Customers want capable, responsive and reliable UK suppliers. ConeX provides an excellent environment to build those connections and identify opportunities where British manufacturers can work together to deliver value.”

Regent Engineering’s manufacturing capabilities include high-volume presswork, robotic welding, fabrication, tooling and assembly services, supported by ISO 9001, TÜV and EN1090 accreditations. The company also manufactures FloorStak®, its innovative modular platform support and levelling system used in aerospace maintenance, defence deployments, emergency response and temporary infrastructure projects worldwide.

The business believes collaboration between manufacturers of all sizes will play an increasingly important role as the UK seeks to strengthen sovereign capability and improve supply chain resilience.

The philosophy behind ConeX Portal has already attracted praise from established manufacturing businesses across the UK.

Andrea Wilson of Hone-All Precision described the platform as “one of the finest examples of true teamwork and collaboration in action” and praised its community-driven approach that values cooperation over competition.

Similarly, Will Patrick of FermionX Manufacturing highlighted the benefits of the network’s collaborative culture, noting that hosting a ConeX event allowed his business to showcase its capabilities while connecting with an entirely new community of manufacturing professionals.

For Whitehouse, those endorsements reflect a broader shift taking place across UK industry.

“The challenges facing manufacturers today—from skills shortages and supply chain pressures to new technology adoption—cannot be solved in isolation,” he said.

“The businesses that thrive will be those that are prepared to collaborate, share expertise and support one another. That’s why we’re excited to become part of the ConeX community.”

As Regent Engineering continues to invest in its manufacturing capabilities and expand its presence within aerospace and defence markets, the company sees ConeX Portal as another important step in building the partnerships that will drive future growth.

“British manufacturing has incredible expertise and innovation,” Whitehouse added.

“Platforms like ConeX help bring that capability together. We’re looking forward to engaging with members, contributing to discussions and exploring opportunities to work alongside other ambitious manufacturers across the UK.”
