FloorStak Demonstrates the Future of Temporary Flooring and Structural Access Solutions

As the global events and temporary structures industry continues to demand greater flexibility, faster installation times and enhanced safety standards, UK manufacturer FloorStak® is emerging as one of the sector’s most innovative engineering success stories.

Designed and manufactured by Regent Engineering in the West Midlands, FloorStak has evolved from a specialist support and levelling system into a complete family of integrated flooring, access and structural support solutions used across weddings, festivals, sporting venues, hospitality environments and large-scale temporary structures worldwide.

At the heart of the system is a deceptively simple engineering philosophy: create robust, safe and easy-to-use products that save time and effort on site.

That philosophy has enabled FloorStak to become a versatile platform capable of overcoming some of the most difficult installation challenges faced by the temporary structures market.

Engineering Flexibility into Temporary Structures

Traditional temporary flooring systems often struggle with uneven terrain, sloping landscapes and obstructed sites, requiring costly scaffolding, extensive groundwork or time-consuming adaptations.

FloorStak was specifically engineered to eliminate those limitations.

Its support and levelling system can accommodate height variations up to two metres while supporting substantial floor load ratings of between 350kg/m² and 750kg/m² depending on configuration.

The modular design integrates directly with flooring and temporary structures, allowing installations on sloping ground, waterfront locations, stadium environments and complex urban sites.

Stuart Whitehouse, Managing Director of Regent Engineering, said the system was born out of real-world operational challenges faced by installers and event professionals.

“Temporary structures are increasingly being installed in locations that demand far greater adaptability than conventional systems can provide,” he explained.

“FloorStak was developed to give installers the ability to work safely and efficiently on difficult terrain while maintaining the professional finish and structural integrity clients expect from premium event environments.”

The system’s telescopic supports, diagonal bracing and modular integration capabilities allow installers to rapidly configure structures while minimising transport and storage requirements.

From Marquees to Major Venues

One of FloorStak’s greatest strengths is its ability to adapt across a wide variety of applications.

The product family now includes:

The systems have been used in luxury marquee installations, sports stadiums, exhibition environments, temporary hospitality structures and public access projects across the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Images throughout the product brochures demonstrate installations in demanding environments including waterfront venues, sloped countryside wedding sites, urban hospitality spaces and international sporting arenas.

According to Whitehouse, versatility has become one of the brand’s defining characteristics.

“What makes FloorStak particularly exciting is that customers are continually finding new applications for it,” he said.

“We originally developed the technology around support and levelling, but the modular engineering behind the system has allowed us to expand into access solutions, stair systems, branded balustrades and fully bespoke structural fabrications.”

Compact Flooring Reduces Logistics Costs

A major innovation within the range is the Compact Floor system, designed to significantly reduce storage and transportation costs without sacrificing structural performance.

The lightweight modular system delivers what the company describes as “the quality of a cassette floor, but less than half the storage and shipping volume.”

Technical diagrams show how the system uses extruded aluminium beam profiles, high-strength steel cross rails and low-profile tongue-and-groove floor sections to create a lightweight but durable platform solution.

FloorStak estimates typical logistics volume savings of approximately 60 per cent compared with traditional cassette floor systems.

“That reduction in transport and storage has become increasingly important for customers operating internationally or managing large event inventories,” said Whitehouse.

“It improves handling efficiency, reduces transport costs and supports more sustainable event logistics.”

Safety, Compliance and Accessibility

As temporary structures become more sophisticated, compliance and public safety have become increasingly critical across the industry.

FloorStak systems have been independently assessed by TÜV Thüringen’s Testing Office for the Stability of Temporary Structures in Germany.

The products are also designed to comply with:

Regent Engineering itself operates to ISO 9001:2015 accreditation and holds EN 1090 certification for fabricated and welded products.

Accessibility has also become a growing focus for the business.

The company’s modular access ramps are designed to satisfy UK Building Regulations Part M requirements for disabled access while remaining fully adjustable for uneven terrain.

Meanwhile, the modular steps system allows installers to quickly configure straight, 90-degree or 180-degree access layouts using standardised components and minimal tooling.

Bespoke Engineering Capability

Beyond its standard product range, FloorStak has increasingly become a bespoke engineering partner to the temporary structures industry.

The business now offers collaborative engineering projects, make-to-print manufacturing and complete design-to-production services for customers requiring customised structural solutions.

This capability draws directly on Regent Engineering’s wider manufacturing expertise in fabricated metal systems and engineered assemblies.

“We see FloorStak as a flexible engineering platform that allows us to work closely with customers to solve installation challenges, improve operational efficiency and create structures that simply wouldn’t have been practical using traditional methods” explains Whitehouse.

As demand grows for premium temporary environments that can be installed quickly, safely and sustainably, FloorStak appears well positioned to continue expanding its footprint across the global events and temporary structures market.
